My name is Lis. I’m a travesti and was born in the countryside of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 2002. With ever-shifting roots, I’ve called more than fifteen different cities “home” throughout my life, an experience that helped me embrace the flexibility of freelancing.
I started working in publishing in 2022 as a layout designer, but I soon discovered that my real passion lies in writing. Since then, I’ve completed two specializations in the field and began my Master’s in Social Anthropology. Today, I work with translation (PT-EN and PT-ES), developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, and cultural consulting for a variety of companies.
Beyond editorial work, I also explore the strange and complex sides of writing, diving into all things human: from fiction and RPGs to politics and minority struggles. My creative projects often center around social critique, bringing to life diverse characters and truths that are often too uncomfortable to say out loud.
As an activist, I founded Oásis Queer, the largest minority-led RPG collective in Brazil, and I’m also part of the team at Mutirão Imaginário, a social initiative that brings artistic creation through RPG to youth in São Paulo’s urban outskirts. In 2023, my social work was recognized with the D20 Awards for Best Informative Content.
