About

My name is Lis. I'm a travesti and was born in the countryside of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 2002. With ever-shifting roots, I've called more than fifteen different cities “home” throughout my life, an experience that’s taught me to embrace the flexibility of freelancing.

I began working in publishing in 2022 as a layout designer, but quickly discovered my true passion lies in the written word. Since then, I’ve completed two specializations in the field and started a master’s degree in Social Anthropology.

Today, I work with translation (PT-EN and PT-ES), developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, and cultural consulting for various companies.

published work

Stories, essays, and articles published in national and international magazines and collections. Narratives that navigate the political and the uncanny, always centered on dissident voices and queer experiences.

editorial services

I work with translation, version, developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, and sensitivity reading for both the publishing industry and independent creators. Each piece is handled with precision, care, and ethical commitment.

consulting

Cultural consulting for those looking to portray social themes and groups with respect and authenticity. Thoughtful, critical guidance tailored to projects across different media.

talks

Available for talks, panels, and events exploring language, culture, diversity, and storytelling. A space to collectively reflect on the challenges and power of building a more inclusive world.
